| 内容記述 | This paper uses concepts such as “metaphor” and “metonymy” from the perspective of cognitive linguistics to discuss the semantic expansion of the noun “eye” in modern Chinese, and analyzes its cognitive mechanism. The paper discusses how “eye” has various meanings through “whole-part” metonymic extension based on the metonymy of vision based on the image schema of “container,” and metaphoric extension based on the shape of “eye”. | |||||||||||
